St. Louis County Library is offering a new tool to help navigate stress, improve sleep and enhance focus.
Starting August 16, anyone with a valid St. Louis County Library card can sign up for a free Headspace account. Headspace makes meditation and mindfulness techniques available online so more people can experience the benefits of meditation anytime, anywhere. SLCL is the first library in Missouri to offer access to the Headspace app, which provides guided meditations, playlists, video workouts and more to help navigate daily stress. There are also tools to help with sleep, focus and mindfulness.
Cardholders can sign up for three-months of free, unlimited use of Headspace. Spots will open up on specific days throughout the year, and cardholders can visit the SLCL website to sign up until the spots are all filled. There are a limited number of spots available during each open enrollment.
Users are welcome to sign up again during the next open enrollment. More details and sign up dates are available at www.slcl.org/headspace.
Headspace provides a variety of resources including:
- A library of 500+ meditations on everything from stress, to resilience, to compassion
- Sleep sounds, music, and wind-down exercises
- Tension-releasing workouts, relaxing yoga, focus music playlists, and more.
